LOCATION(S): London

SALARY: £73,521 - £81,690

HOURS: Full time

WORKING PATTERN: Hybrid, 40% (or two days) in our London Office

About this opportunity

We have an opportunity for an experienced Finance Business Partner to join us in London. Our Business and Commercial Bank (BCB) serves the financial needs of small and medium sized businesses, and Corporate and Institutional Banking (CIB) serves the needs of large clients who have a strong link to the UK, both driven by the Groups purpose of Helping Britain Proposer and ensuring Sustainability and Strategic objectives are delivered.

The Commercial Bank (CB) portfolio Business partnering team sits within the wider CB Finance Business partnering community of c.40 Finance Business partners.

In this role you'll partner Senior stakeholders across the BCB & CIB business and finance, providing financial support to the Cash Management & Payments and Ringfenced Bank FX products, across all financial lines, working within a large and diverse business partnering community, supported by a senior manager.

Day to day you'll be;

  • Building trusted relationships across business and finance.
  • Building and leading regular and ad hoc financial performance updates, interpreting financials and challenging the business.
  • Supporting the business in making strategic decisions around pricing, proposition and Investment.
  • Using your curiosity to understand performance and build new analysis to help drive this forward.
  • Forecasting and Planning to help set the direction of the business providing challenge to ensure we meet our financial commitments
  • Collaborating with the wider FBP community to support key meetings such as the BCB Growth Forum and CIB Finance Resource Meeting.
  • Building an in-depth knowledge on how a bank makes money, including Income, Costs, Capital and Funding & liquidity providing expert advice to the business.

What you'll need

  • Qualified accountant with demonstrable post qualified experience working in financial services.
  • Experience in Business partnering and challenging / influencing Senior Stakeholders to drive business performance forwards.
  • Experience in Financial Forecasting and Planning.
  • Understanding of Funds Transfer Pricing, and the linkage between Balances, PnL.
  • Ability to interpret performance and clearly communicate key stories and messages to the business.
  • Agility and strong prioritisation skills to manage the demands of the business.
  • A curiosity to learn about the business, performance and our processes to deliver insight, control and courage to challenge.
  • A constant desire to improve the way we do things and strive to change.
