LOCATION(S): Edinburgh

SALARY: £42,120 - £46,800

HOURS: Full time

WORKING PATTERN: Hybrid, 40% (or two days) in our Edinburgh office

Are you a Finance Professional looking to enhance your experience in banking and financial markets?

A unique opportunity has arisen in the Finance Valuation and Control team at LBG in Edinburgh.

The team covers product control and valuation control for the fair value businesses within LBG, working closely with front offices across the trading and structured finance businesses as well as being a centre of excellence for all fair value reporting within the Finance function of the Group.

Day to day you'll be;

  • Running independent valuations and providing analysis and attribution of results.
  • Operating the valuation controls, understanding the implication of any breaks or exceptions and applying the appropriate escalation of issues.
  • Liaising with independent valuation services and market data providers.
  • Liaising with business owners on valuation results, drivers and market data inputs and valuation implications of new transactions.
  • Calculating prudential valuation adjustments that are reactive to market conditions
  • Collaborating closely with Finance and Risk business partners on business management and regulatory governance.
  • Production and development of valuation governance tracking and management information.
  • Supporting the month end close processes associated with accurately reporting and assisting in independently validating the structured elements of the bank's balance sheet in a timely manner.
  • Providing verified research and background material for valuation papers.
  • Working with change teams on specifying and testing of system and model developments.

What you'll need

  • An understanding of financial Instruments and fair value calculation techniques.
  • Numeracy and competency with MS Office applications, including experience in the use of Excel models and for producing management information.
  • Experience in dealing accounting systems and financial reporting.
  • Personal attributes consistent with our values of trust, people first, inclusivity, innovative thinking, and sustainability.

And any experience of these would be really useful

  • Experience in Valuation control or Product control role for a bank.
  • Financial mathematics knowledge including financial market conventions for Fixed Income products.
  • Use of market data applications.
  • Experience of Visual Basic for Applications (VBA) and / or database and business intelligence software tools.
