JOB TITLE: Head of Economic Crime Prevention Oversight

SALARY: £111,469 - £144,254

LOCATION(S): Leeds, Halifax, Birmingham, Edinburgh

HOURS: Full-time

WORKING PATTERN: Our work style is hybrid, which involves spending at least

two days per week, or 40% of our time, at one of our office sites

If so, this is a fantastic opportunity for you to lead a team of Economic Crime Prevention (ECP) Risk specialists! The Team provide oversight of Economic Crime Prevention across the Ring fenced part of the Group.

No day in Economic Crime Prevention is the same. We engage right across the Group, advising on ways to improve how we keep our customers, our colleagues and the bank safe. This means we work closely as a collaborative team and spend a lot of our time looking at different areas of the Bank and analysing data, controls and processes to help our teams and businesses.

Day to day, you will:

  • Setting and leading the development and implementation of the Group's ECP Oversight activity.

  • Provide support and challenging both internally and externally, ensuring the right focus on ECP risk mitigation.

  • Influencing key partners, contributing to broader strategic planning and business decision-making by providing deep subject matter expertise and a well-developed knowledge of the business, with a particular focus on Business and Commercial Banking (BCB) and Corporate and Institutional Banking (CIB).

  • Lead, support, develop and motivate a customer journey and BCB/CIB relationship team within the Group's 2nd Line ECP Risk Management Framework Team.

  • Provide robust oversight and challenge to the business, ensuring that ECP Risks are fully understood, mitigated and managed.

  • Advise Risk and Control owners in the implication of all aspects of ECP Risk management for the Group and drive a culture of ECP awareness.

  • Ensure a robust and effective ECP Policy is in place and appropriate assurance, oversight and testing activity is undertaken.

  • Support 2nd line governance to provide in-depth assessment of policy, risk appetite and threat landscape.

  • Collate, interpret and disseminate ECP oversight reports, to support the Group ECP Risk Management Framework Director in ECP governance forums.

  • Develop a schedule of thematic oversight reviews, ensuring that issues are highlighted, Business Unit action plans for resolution developed and as appropriate, escalated accordingly

  • Assess Business Unit input in relation to current emerging and anticipated threats in ECP to help the Business Units shape current and future prevention, detection and disruption strategies and investment.

What you'll need:

  • Detailed knowledge of the ECP Risks within Onboarding, Ongoing Monitoring and BCB/CIB

  • Experience of development and execution of a 2nd line oversight plan

  • Ability to advise and influence the Group Economic Crime Prevention senior leadership team, Risk owners, Control owners and Business Unit leadership teams

  • Ability to effectively communicate strategic direction for ECP Risk ensuring that it aligns with the Group's objectives

  • Procedural/Product/Specialist Knowledge - Excellent technical knowledge of ECP Risk and the wider business

  • Change Management - strategic development and delivery developing ideas into action

  • Organisational Awareness - Extensive network and understanding of role partners play in delivering results

And any experience of these would be really useful:

  • Liaising with regulatory bodies regarding ECP risks

  • Working across the industry to help prevent Economic Crime

  • Experience of presenting at senior risk committees
