JOB TITLE: Quality Engineer

SALARY: £49,788 to £55,320

LOCATION(S): Jersey, St Helier and Isle of Man, Douglas Villiers House

HOURS: Full Time/Part Time

WORKING PATTERN: Our work style is hybrid, which involves spending at least two days per week, or 40% of our time, at one of our office sites.

As a Quality Engineer you'll manage all test activities for multiple projects in parallel. You'll engineer a test approach and build test plans looking at scope, resources and skills of the team.

You'll provide quality Engineering oversight, technical leadership and set the direction of the team and develop colleagues through stretching technical and personal development plans.

Collaborating closely with development and analysis teams, you'll perform a deep dive to understand both functional and non-functional requirements.

Responsibilities:

  • Independently undertakes testing of code (manually or via automation) to deliver products that are fit for purpose and meet the quality standards that our customers expect. Ensuring all test artefacts are up to business standards and of quality.
  • Defining and delivering business scenarios and test scripts, including Functional Testing & Automation Testing (SOAP UI), and post release testing in production environments.
  • Support Operations teams in production as and when required for critical issues and defect management and reporting activities using ALM and JIRA.
  • Covering multiple user roles, devices, browsers, and operating systems via online tools.

What we need from you:

  • Strong Quality Engineering background and understanding of agile and non-agile development practices; automated builds, continuous integration, code quality metrics, configuration management, etc.
  • Experience of a broad range of testing including system, integration, and end-to-end testing.
  • Experience across the entire development lifecycle from inception, through build to production.
  • Passion for coaching other software and quality engineers whilst building a strong team culture.
  • Ability to demonstrate a good understanding of UX and UI principles and best practices.
