Within the mortgages team at Lloyds Banking Group, we're committed to broadening access to home ownership, supporting customers during their home owning journey and reducing the carbon emissions from our housing stock.
Our mortgage labs are passionate about improving the experience and support of our customers throughout their home purchase journey and the subsequent lifetime of their mortgage whether bought directly from one of our UK wide brands or via an external broker.
As part of one of our cross-disciplinary teams of engineers you'll use your knowledge and expertise in a variety of methodologies and toolsets to develop innovative end user solutions to meet customer needs within their home buying journey.
Alongside this we're redefining what a bank is from the inside out. Our technology and our approaches are changing to craft a true engineering-led organisation.
What you'll do
You'll learn new skills, technologies and approaches to software development as well as benefiting from an environment that celebrates diversity, equal opportunity and provides opportunities for flexible working.
You'll have the opportunity to develop and adopt exciting new technologies and become an active member of Communities of Practice, engineering guilds and working groups across the bank.
You'll play a key role in the future developments of our sales journeys across multiple channels - designing, building, testing and deploying software to deliver for our customers and colleagues.
Use new and innovative technologies whilst also harnessing and maintaining existing systems that are currently the engine room of our platform.
Alongside others, you'll engineer business requirements into technical solutions to improve the customer and colleague experience throughout our home buying experience.
You'll bring a dynamism, showing you're an adaptable individual, able to learn and use new skills in varying circumstances.
You'll contribute to a robust team environment and continuously improve what we do and how we do it.
What you'll need
Wealth of experience in software development using the IBM Mainframe COBOL programming language using DB2 and CICS
Experience in using ISPF, JCL, TWS
Experience in using tools - Endevor, MainView, File-Aid, BMC Cat Mgr for DB2
Good knowledge and experience of SOAP using XML and JSON webservices
Experience of delivering webservices using CICS
Experience in using modern mainframe development tools like Topaz Workbench, IBM Developer for z/OS, VSCode, zOWE, Git
Experience in using service/API testing tools like SOAPUI/Postman
Knowledge of automation tools like Jenkins, UCD
Vast experience of designing solutions that are configurable, performant and resilient.
Good knowledge of DevOps and ability to implement them on Mainframe platform
