Want a Summary of the Role?
This Software Engineer role sits within the Engineering team and will focus on work in our Strategic Ledger Lab. You would play a key part in the managing and maintaining the Oracle Cloud ledger incorporating technology and functional change. As Software Engineer you will also help to maximise the product functionality whilst providing engineering support for the integration with other software components across a transformed Finance technology landscape.

Our mission is to promote the adoption of modern software engineering practices, specifically accelerating our technology estate change lifecycle, DevOps, Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment, Cloud computing and Agile ways of working.
The right person will work in a cross-disciplinary team and act as advocate for high quality software engineering. You will be familiar with the Fusion application, including creating workflows in BPM (Business Process Manager), orchestrating various Fusion processes, as well as report and configuration migration through the RTL environments.
You will provide resolution to impediments and issues as well as continually developing yourself. You will also be a passionate advocate of engineering and a champion of engineering principles and practices.
What do you need to be considered for this job?
We encourage people from a range of role and industry backgrounds but do need to see the following as a minimum for consideration:
- 5 years + in Software Engineering with experience in exploiting functionality in Oracle Cloud products (OFSAA, ERP, EPM, OIC, OAC & FAW) and integration with other software such as GCP Solid understanding of Cloud hosting and awareness of integration, connectivity, authentication, SSO Web-services and API technologies.
- Strong understanding OF LBG Engineering and security protocols & standards.
- Extensive SQL PLSQL / Oracle database knowledge for ETL and migration of data / Business Intelligence Publisher capability.
- Understanding of Branching Strategies, tooling such GIT, Jenkins, GitHub Actions, Urban Code Deployment.
- Great interpersonal skills and a good communicator with technical and non-technical people.
- Oh, and if you have any prior experience working within a finance function or with general ledger systems that would be handy, but please apply if you don't!
Who are the General Ledger Software Development Team?
Our team is part of the Group Transformation division, in the Finance Value Stream, specifically within the General Ledger's Lab area of the bank. You will be responsible for supporting a vast and complex Finance Ledger landscape including Oracle Fusion (Cloud hosted ledger) as well as the existing/legacy ledgers and sub-ledgers. In addition to this, the team also supports the Integrity application for Finance attestation, the Generic Interface Processes as well as the Data Reference Management tool.
