We are currently looking for nurses to join Herriot Hospice@The Lambert to make a difference and join a dynamic multi-disciplinary team passionately dedicated to providing specialist palliative and end of life care services across a variety of clinical settings in our brand new 6 bed in-patient unit at Herriot Hospice@The Lambertin Thirsk. Pay scale Newly qualified Nurse (under 2 years post-qualification experience): £33,763.38FTE (£17.27 per hour for the first 12 months), £36,727.76 FTE (£18.78 per hour 12-months to 2 years, enhancements included). Qualified Nurse (minimum 2 years experience): £39,193.71 FTE (£20.04 per hour), rising to £40,377.46 FTE (£20.65 per hour after a successful 6-month probation, enhancements included). Key Tasks 1. Assess, plan, implement and evaluate patient centred specialist palliative nursing care within a friendly and supportive team. 2. Ensure that accurate records of care are maintained according to standards and in line with legal requirements. 3. Act as an advocate and always in the best interest of patients and loved ones alongside members of the multi-disciplinary team to ensure their needs are met. 4. Work with the Infection Prevention and Control Team to ensure the highest standards within the hospice. 5. Ensure that all clinical practice is of the highest standard following clinical policies, procedures, and guidelines at all times. 6. Provide mentorship and teaching to students and new members of the team delivering a positive learning environment. 7. Act as Shift Co-ordinator with other members of the team on a rotational basis following a period of induction and training. 8. Help maintain a pleasant and safe environment for patients, visitors and staff. 9. Ensure resources are adequately sustained by maintaining appropriate levels of supplies of stock. 10. Actively keep up to date by participating in educational opportunities, applying evidence based practice and ensuring the requirements of Revalidation and CPD are met. 11. Work with members of the nursing team on agreed specialist responsibilities, sharing knowledge and taking responsibility for the development and monitoring of practice and progress in that area. 12. On request, with support, to work across the organisations services to support our patients in all locations. 13. Empower volunteers in line with policies and procedures to ensure full contribution, assisting staff to achieve Hospice strategy. 14. Embed the values of the organisation into your working practices evidencing this regularly and ensuring this remains a priority.
