Based in the community across South and West Yorkshire Status: Fixed-term for 12 months Salary: Band 5, £29,553 - £36,166, per annum, dependent on experience Hours: Full-time, 37.5 hours per week ________________________________________________________________________________ Working in the community as part of NHS Integrated Veterans Mental Health Service (Op Courage) in South & West Yorkshire with travel required and regular attendance at an NHS Hub. Hub is based Yeadon, Leeds. About Us: Combat Stress is the UK's leading mental health charity for veterans. For over a century we've been helping former servicemen and women deal with issues like post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), anxiety and depression. Today we provide specialist treatment and support for veterans from every service and conflict, focusing on those with complex mental health issues related to their military service. We provide a range of community, outpatient and residential mental health services to veterans with complex mental health problems. We provide services in-person, and via phone and online. About the role: This is a new and exciting position for a Substance Misuse Recovery Worker to join Combat Stress and work alongside the NHS as part of Op Courage in the South and West Yorkshire region of North England. For a Substance Misuse Recovery Worker, an appointment working with our Armed Forces veterans would be extremely rewarding. Our veterans have served in every campaign since the First World War and for over a hundred years our team has been there to support them with their mental health needs. You will work with a service user group who have a real motivation to make positive changes to their lives and your experience, compassion and focus on recovery will help achieve this. Experience of working with military and veteran populations would be welcome but it is not essential. Under the supervision of a Substance Misuse Nurse, you will work within a small but highly skilled multidisciplinary team to provide timely and high-quality specialised substance misuse interventions for veterans. This position will be a blend of in-person and digital, however travel to stakeholder locations will be expected as required. The role will be integrated into the Op Courage treatment pathway.
