Help us to improve the quality of our local charity shops by going undercover!

  • Waltham Cross
  • Ware
  • Welwyn Garden City
  • Welwyn Village

Times Available:

Visits to shops both Midweek & Weekend

(Monday to Saturday 9am - 5pm)

Description:

Our shops are the face of the Hospice, and this is a key role to help ensure we are consistent in the level of service that we provide.

We want our shops to stand out from other shops on the High Street because of our exceptional service and the range, value and quality of the goods we sell. Our shops all play a huge part in supporting Sustainability and we aim to be known in the local area for being the place to go to buy preloved goods whilst also supporting your local charity.

We are looking for Volunteers who love Charity Shop shopping and would be happy to share their experiences of both shopping and donating to Isabel Hospice.

You will be provided with a questionnaire that we would like you to complete following your visit where you can highlight where we are doing well and what we can improve on.

Your key responsibilities will be:

  • Visiting our shops
  • Purchasing items
  • Donating items
  • Preparing report to feed back

The skills, qualities and experience we are looking for are:

  • Have an interest in and/or experience of working with sustainable fashion.
  • Be customer service focused.
  • Friendly with good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Positive and enthusiastic attitude.
  • To have a reasonable level of fitness - you may be required to drop off bags of donations at our shops as part of your Mystery shopper role
  • To be able to use word / Excel to complete questionnaires.
  • To have respect for Isabel's policies & display our values of Caring, Together, Respect, Responsive & Dynamic at all times.
  • To be respectful of others regardless of their background - the role will require you to be committed to fairness, respect, equality, diversity, inclusion, and engagement.
  • Age 18 and over.
