Can you spare 1-3 hours per week, working flexibly, largely from home? We promote, enhance and protect the Derbyshire countryside. Could you help by connecting a range of community projects with people across the county?

What will you be doing?

You will coordinate current and new engagement initiatives, work collaboratively with the trustees and partners locally to raise awareness of CPRE and give voice to those who may not have previously engaged with the work of CPRE. You'll help us to achieve our vision by attracting new volunteers and increasing the diversity of engagement opportunities we offer. Understanding the needs of communities and volunteers is an important part of this role. What you will be doing:

  • Establish contact with partners and build relationships with local organisations across all sectors
  • Help to extend the charity's reach and impact through supporting, attending and running a variety of events and activities to engage our supporters and the general public
  • Contribute content and ideas for CPRE's external communications eg newsletters, website, social media
  • Support collaboration across local wellbeing projects and peer support networks, to promote the role of CPRE in encouraging people to actively manage their wellbeing
  • Help ensure that people living in the locality are aware, encouraged, and have access to a variety of engagement activities
  • Maintain a database of community connections and collaborations and seek to grow the CPRE network locally

What are we looking for?

  • An interest in the countryside and environmental issues
  • Management of or experience with community groups, projects or community development work
  • Ability to motivate, engage and to get people involved
  • A friendly, flexible approach and an ability to relate to people from different backgrounds
  • Good organisational skills and confidence to use online systems including use of the internet at home
  • Happy carrying out tasks independently and as part of a team
  • Good communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Be able to commit to volunteering regularly to suit your availability with occasional attendance at meetings

What difference will you make?

What's in it for you?

  • Use your skills and experience to contribute to the success of our charity and make a positive difference to the countryside
  • Meet like-minded people and enjoy being part of a team
  • Enhance your CV by developing new skills and gaining valuable and practical experience
  • We will give you some training and support you to develop in your volunteering role
  • We can give you a reference for your future work or volunteering
  • Get involved with various social events, workshops and webinars on a local and national level
  • Online volunteer induction session with CPRE national charity and the chance to visit CPRE offices in London or a regional centre
