Job Description

The IFA is looking for a Company Secretary to support the its Trustees, managing the organisation of meetings, advise on charity and company compliance and be part of the team that strives towards the charities objects.

What will you be doing?

  • Familiarising yourself with the IFA's governing documents and relevant charity and company rules to advise the board where necessary.
  • Ensure compliance with charity and company law including preparation and filing of accounts, and annual returns.
  • Maintaining and updating the register of Trustees, and company and charity information
  • Managing Board meetings, typically 4-6 held per year, (dates, notifications, agendas etc.)
  • Taking minutes and maintaining the record of minutes
  • Proof reading and redacting documents for publication where necessary
  • Tracking progress of the business plan and, jointly with trustees, managing the process of regular review and update

What are we looking for?

We are looking for someone with relevant experience as Company Secretary or with had involvement in working with a charity or company.

What difference will you make?

The field of complementary therapy is increasingly recognised particularly in the field of preventive medicine. The IFA were the first professional body established to represent the rapidly growing aromatherapy industry and are accredited by the Professional Standards Authority. We pioneered aromatherapy in the NHS but there is still some way to go before it is recognised mainstream and we carry on with the same pioneering spirit in all our activities.
