What will you be doing?

Be Free Young Carers is the only charity in Oxfordshire devoted to improving young carers' well-being and opportunities, through the provision of recreational, emotional and social support.We are committed to making a positive difference in the lives of Young Carers in Oxfordshire. As part of our mission, we are seeking a Volunteer Community Fundraiser to join our team and play a crucial role in securing funds for our various projects and programs. We believe in the power of community engagement and are committed to supporting local initiatives that enhance the quality of life for Young Carers

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Community Engagement:
    • Build and maintain strong relationships with individuals, businesses, and community groups in South Oxfordshire.
    • Represent the organisation at community events, parish councils, fetes, and networking functions to raise awareness of our mission, connect potential supporters and promote fundraising initiatives.
  2. Fundraising Planning and Execution:
    • Collaborate with the fundraising team to develop and execute effective fundraising campaigns and events.
    • Identify and pursue new fundraising opportunities, including sponsorships and partnerships.
  3. Donor Cultivation:
    • Develop and nurture relationships with potential donors, ensuring effective communication and stewardship.
    • Implement strategies to retain and grow the donor base, including acknowledgement and recognition programs.

Qualifications & Requirements:

  • Previous experience in fundraising, community engagement, or related fields.
  • Passion for community development and a strong commitment to the organization's mission.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong organisational and time-management skills.
