Wolverhampton City Champions

Reach Volunteering

Job Description

City Champions are dedicated advocates committed to fostering a city environment that empowers everyone to prosper!

What will you be doing?

Our champions come from diverse backgrounds, all driven by a common purpose - to ensure that no one is left behind on the path to progress, especially when it comes to digital opportunities.

Our Vision

We see a community supporting each other and building each other up, but how?

With the help of our Champions, residents aged 16-29 will gain access to modern technology and will be advised & supported in enrolling on courses to start their digital careers.

Our Champions will help unlock the digital world for our older neighbours. They will support residents aged 50 & over to set up email address, launch their online utilities & teach them how to use platforms such as Zoom plus so much more.

If that's not enough, we want our community to be proud of where they are from, so our Champions will be facilitating meetings where residents can voice their concerns and be the start of change with our support.

As such, we are looking for individuals with experience in the skills needed to support this project: Digital, IT strategy and Mentoring.

What are we looking for?

  • Problem-solving.
  • Digital skills
  • IT skills
  • Mentoring experience preferable
  • Organisation & planning.
  • Communication & interpersonal skills.
  • Relationship building.
  • Mentoring skills & training others.
  • Teamwork.
  • Time management.

What difference will you make?

How You Can Get Involved

We're currently in the process of building our full website, recruiting our volunteer Champions & identifying delivery locations, after all we can't do it alone. We believe that true change happens when people unite for a common goal. Here's how you can be part of this journey:

  1. Become a Champion: get in touch to start your Champion journey
  2. Come and unlock your potential: get in touch to access the support of our Champions
  3. Spread the Word: Share our vision with your friends, family, and colleagues.

Together, we can build a network of change makers passionate about shaping a better future for our city.

The City Champions initiative is about creating lasting impact and making our city better places for everyone.
