Why we’re working with Rest Less

We’re working with Rest Less because it makes total sense to our business. Our success is only achieved through the amazing team members we have and we are proud to have welcomed many professional carers aged over 50 (over half of our team!). Some already have care experience, many have needed to care for a loved one or friend, enjoyed it and want to try something different from the career they may have had for many years.

We love diversity. Our vision is to be the leading provider of the highest quality care in the home. We enable older people to enjoy staying safely and happily in their own homes and own community for as long as possible, whilst enhancing their wellbeing and lifestyle. We welcome team members who share this vision.

Real-life stories

Changing career or transferring to a new company needn’t be daunting. We asked some of our valued team of carers to tell us about their experiences of working as a Professional live-in carer. We hope they inspire you too.

Sarah's story...

“I decided to become a live-in carer after my step-mum developed dementia and I soon realised what a huge difference the right carer made to her life. I feel privileged to be able to help provide support to my client helping her maintain her independence and continue living in her own home surrounded by possessions that mean so much to her.

When I go to my client’s house, I actually feel like I’m coming home. You are matched closely with your client and that is invaluable. I like knowing my client’s likes and dislikes, they will tell me about their life stories and I get to know their families too”

Marion's story...

“Having worked in a variety of care settings over the years, it’s live-in care that’s by far given me the greatest job satisfaction. More importantly, I’ve seen first-hand how having the time to build relationships with my clients is central to enhancing their sense of wellbeing and happiness later in life. Live-in care gives me the opportunity to do what inspired me to care in the first place: seeing my work make a real difference to an individual’s life as opposed to them just being another number on my to do list.”

Gary's story...

“I decided to join the care sector after supporting my mum for 18 months. She suffered from terminal cancer and sadly passed away. It was this experience that quickly made me realise that I would like to become a carer.  I’ve been working in care now for nearly 12 years and I love it.  I love my role with The Good Care Group as you’re supporting people on a one to one basis; you get the opportunity to really get to know the person and you can make a real difference in supporting your client to have the very best quality of life in their own home.”
