JOB TITLE: Senior Solution Architect

SALARY: £86,964 - £102,310

LOCATION(S): Halifax

HOURS: Full-time - please note that this role will require you to be on call outside of normal working hours and there will be an additional on call salary.

WORKING PATTERN: Our work style is hybrid, which involves spending at least two days per week, or 40% of our time, at our office location.

About this opportunity

This vacancy lies at the very heart of this within the Identity and Authentication platform. In ID&A, we strive to give every customer of the Group the strongest possible protection against fraud. It's an interesting, challenging, and dynamic problem space, and we are assembling an elite solution architecture function to help catalyse this journey.

You'll be working with other industry leading architects, engineers, and technicians as a part of a lab within the Identity and Authentication platform.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Owning the solution design for initiatives and programmes throughout the entire delivery lifecycle

  • Translating high level business requirements into technology architectures that align to the strategic architecture, through expert engineering and architectural skills.

  • Presenting to senior business partners, securing strong engagement for the solution, and ensuring that delivery aligns to longer term roadmaps.

  • Engaging engineering and architecture cohorts as required throughout the design phase.

  • Mentoring and leading other engineers, building a strong team culture through peer-to-peer teamwork and development.

  • Practical experience of working in a Solution Architect role.

  • Experience in Digital Transformation of Banking Solutions.

  • Experience in platform cloud migration.

  • Experience of working with containerised microservices.

  • Strong experience with Network and API security, connectors, service, and data pages.

  • Excellent stakeholder communication and presentation skills.

  • Strong project management skills.

And any experience of these would be really useful

  • An understanding of Data Architecture

  • A working knowledge of Authentication and Authorisation concepts

  • Knowledge of event-driven architecture principles

  • CI/CD and monitoring tools
