In actual fact there is not much that Stone’s Ginger Wine does not go with. It is a drink with a fresh gingery taste that slips down so easily and brings a warm glow to your body. The original Ginger Wine, founded in the mid-eighteenth century, is the number one ginger wine in the UK. It is an iconic quintessentially British drink and is the perfect base for a Whisky Winter Warmer.
Grace and I met up on a frosty morning last week to start creating our cocktails. Having unwrapped the hamper that we had received full of Stone’s Ginger Wine goodies – including a unique ginger fragrance candle in an empty half bottle – we created several cocktails throughout the morning, but eventually settle on our two favourites.
Grace’s Pear Mac:
Pour 25ml Stone’s Ginger Wine, 25ml whiskey and 50ml pear juice into a lovely crystal tumbler. Add a squeeze of fresh lime juice and pop in a few ice cubes. Simple to make but a deliciously complex drink – hot, spicy, fruity… yum!
Annabel’s Elder Mac:
Take a few cubes of ice in the bottom of your glass and add
50ml Elderflower Cordial
50ml Stone’s Ginger Wine
Tonic Water to top as required
A few squeezes of lime
So with dark nights and chilly weather ahead grab yourself a bottle of Stone’s Ginger Wine and create your own winter cocktail. It is guaranteed to thaw your chills and get you in the spirit.
Stone’s Ginger Wine (Original) is available nationwide in Tesco with Stone’s Special Reserve is available in selected Waitrose.
