Alfresco with attitude – stylish outdoor furniture

Finally!  More and more days are drenched in sunshine than in drizzle. Hooray. We can get out in the garden and relish some warm fresh air. The jewel colours of spring flowers have suddenly made a very welcome appearance. The grass is lush, green and freshly mowed. Delicate buds and leaves are bursting forth from every shrub, hedge and tree. Sunny days make us all feel more positive, warm our bones and, in Husband and my case, mean we can finally entertain friends again. Until the builders have been and gone, we only have one tiny table that four can squeeze around – downsizing meant we auctioned our 12-seater. We’ve decided to do alfresco with attitude and so I’ve been looking for stylish outdoor furniture:

If we’re lucky, we’ll enjoy a long hot summer this year and so I’ve also got my eye on this square parasol. £75. Made from water-repellent polyester offering UV sun protection, equivalent to a UV rating of upf50+, this one has a durable coated metal frame and pole. Bases are sold separately from £29.50. Am wondering if I can find a shady spot for this very pretty filigreed metal bench shown here in Sage green, which is supplied with a matching water repellent cushion. Also available in Cream or Grey. On special offer at £103.20.

As we are lucky enough to have a sun trap at the back of our cottage, this durable table with a couple of matching chairs would look brilliant there. Available in Teal, Bright Green or Grey, £99 for the table and £119 for a set of two chairs.
