Frankly, it’s a minefield.
My job is to try to keep up with all that’s seductively new in the beauty world. Yes, exciting new arrivals do appear out of the blue, that when tested over several weeks one genuinely feels all the marketing hype was justified. The ‘new’ ingredient is indeed ground breaking, or a new application of make up is what it claims… revolutionary.
Realistically, this doesn’t happen often.
The alternative is a rather appealing ‘one stop shop’. Once you’ve discovered the one, why look any further?
The Avon catalogue is an eye opener, showcasing an excellent cross section of beauty products with prices to suit everyone’s budget.

Arbonne This company’s story began 37 years ago. Petter Morck’s passion for the beauty and perfection found only in nature led him to develop botanically based products that were pure, safe and beneficial. The name Arbonne comes from a village in Switzerland, which has come to mean beautiful tree. His son has now taken the helm. The company sells through independent consultants. One of them, Rosie contacted CountryWives, and is passionate and enthusiastic about the brand. So much so that she’s determined to combine spreading the Arbonne word together with studying medicine!
Range of products for all ages (men, women and babies) across the board, with a ‘Gold Winner Beauty Awards 2015’ for their Lifting & Contouring Eye Cream.
They have developed an ultrasound massaging tool for the face and neck (2016 Award Winner).
A range for problem skin.
Detox products and pure essential oils.
Hair care.
An extensive range of plant powered nutritional products – vegan certified and gluten free eg. powders, supplements and protein snack bars to name a few.
A large selection of makeup. The Makeup Primer I sampled was excellent.
