Fake Fry – all the taste and much less of the fat

January 7, 2022

This article was written for Annabel & Grace, which is now part of Rest Less.

Want something breaded and deep fried?  Try a fake-fry instead. This is one of our healthy recipes – less fattening but just as delicious.

Dip slices of your favourite vegetable in egg whites. Dip it again in a coating that’s equal parts Parmesan, wholewheat flour and breadcrumbs.

Bake at 230 degrees centigrade until the crumbs are golden brown, for a healthy alternative to fried foods.

Works best with softer veggies like mushrooms or aubergine (especially as they really soak up fat when you fry them conventionally).

A small tip, but at this time of year, it all helps!
