The Social Media Specialist at the Blue Magpie Foundation (BMF) will play a pivotal role in enhancing our online presence and expanding our reach across various social media platforms

What will you be doing?

This individual will be responsible for creating engaging and visually appealing content using tools like Canva, while effectively managing BMF's presence on Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, and LinkedIn. The primary focus of this role is to grow our audience, engage with stakeholders, and drive greater awareness of BMF's mission and impact.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Social Media Strategy: Develop and execute an effective social media strategy aligned with BMF's goals and target audience. Identify trends, content themes, and opportunities for greater audience engagement.

2. Content Creation: Design and curate captivating visual content using platforms like Canva to create graphics, infographics, and videos that effectively communicate BMF's mission and programs.

3. Platform Management: Manage and monitor BMF's social media accounts, ensuring timely and consistent posting of relevant content. Respond to comments, messages, and inquiries from followers in a professional and engaging manner.

4. Community Engagement: Proactively engage with followers and key stakeholders through comments, likes, shares, and direct messaging to build meaningful relationships and foster a sense of community.

5. Audience Growth: Implement strategies to increase BMF's social media following and reach. Identify opportunities for partnerships, collaborations, and influencer engagement to expand our audience.

6. Analytics and Insights: Regularly track and analyze social media performance using analytics tools. Provide reports on key metrics, identify areas of improvement, and make data-driven recommendations.

7. Social Media Trends: Stay informed about the latest social media trends, algorithm changes, and best practices. Apply this knowledge to improve BMF's social media presence and keep our content fresh and engaging.

8. Campaign Support: Collaborate with other teams to support the promotion of events, fundraising campaigns, and initiatives through social media platforms.

What are we looking for?

- Proven experience in managing social media accounts and creating content for a nonprofit organisation or relevant field.

- Proficiency in graphic design tools like Canva or Adobe Creative Suite to produce visually appealing content.

- In-depth knowledge of various social media platforms, including Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, and LinkedIn.

- Strong understanding of social media analytics and the ability to leverage data for continuous improvement.

- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a keen eye for detail.

- Passion for social impact and empowering vulnerable children through education.

- Creative mindset with the ability to think outside the box and innovate in the social media space.
